One of the hardest things about being an entrepreneur or an innovator is that you’re often striking out alone. Even if you have a team, sometimes it’s helpful to have a different group of people with whom to let off steam, get advice, and learn from different perspectives.
Our online community and offline activities are designed to facilitate that interaction. Most are free and open to anyone. Come along and join in!
Are you nervous about networking? Do you see it as a necessary chore, rather than something enjoyable? Do you feel like you could improve your skills? If the answer to any of those questions is yes, come along to our networking masterclass to learn some new skills, refresh your knowledge and remind yourself why you do it. This workshop will be a quick, interactive ‘power hour’ designed to help you become a more confident and effective networker: and there’s a great opportunity to practice your skills directly afterwards at the TheHill/Oxford Startups social mixer (open to all).
Register for a (free) ticket.
Register separately for networking afterwards with TheHill and Oxford Startups
Sustainable Start-ups: a panel discussion
Are you setting up a company or social enterprise, and want to be sustainable? Join us on 13th June, 2019, to discuss all things green and entrepreneurial.
Studies show that people are more creative and open to new ideas when being active. It’s also far too easy to spend lots of time at your desk or in meetings indoors when you’re working hard on a new business or social enterprise. Come along to our ‘netwalking’ to meet some fellow entrepreneurs whilst also exploring some of Oxford and Oxfordshire’s beautiful parks and countryside.
We usually walk 1-2 miles at a relaxed pace, but there are also options for those that want to go faster and longer, or less far, to peel off and re-join the group later. Whenever possible we will finish the walk at a watering hole of some kind.
Next dates: Thursday 4th July, 1600-1730; Friday 9th August, 1330-1500. Email for more details.
Are you interested in reading entrepreneurship and self-improvement books recommended by peers, with the opportunity to discuss them afterwards with the group?
Our purpose-driven entrepreneurship book club will be meeting for the first time in September. Visit our Facebook group at www.facebook.com/groups/oxlaunch to vote on other people’s choices and to input your own suggestions for what our summer read should be. We’ll be deciding on the book by the end of June so that everyone has plenty of time to read it over the summer.
In September, we’ll meet in person to discuss the book, but if you can’t make that, there will also be an opportunity to discuss it online.
The OxLaunch Community is a free community based around our Facebook group. Here you can share your journey to date with other early stage entrepreneurs, people who are thinking about it and others interested in purpose-driven entrepreneurship.
